Hey guys,

we are looking to get hold of a silencer for our yammy r6. The honda hornet is a 600cc bike with about 80odd bhp, and so should suit our needs (we are a team with a very low budget and unfortunately are running out of time for testing - we feel the testing is more important than designing a silencer from scratch). The flow rate of our restricted engine should be nowhere near that of a hornet, and so we were thinking of getting a fairly lightweight, inexpensive carbon can as the weight decrease will benefit performance more than can with very high flow rate performance.
So we're looking for a lightweight (probably carbon) can from a honda hornet, or a yammy fazer, or a similarly specced bike.
We're in the UK (Cambridge) - if anyone knows of somewhere where we can either purchase one new, or has one they'd like to sell, or knows of a second hand can we'd definitely like to hear from you!

Of course, any experience with doing this or why it's a terrible idea is also appreciated - we'd rather hear it now than from the judges :-)

cheers in advance,

Baz
