SpeedSource is seeking to add a junior race engineer to the staff:
Duties include:
•Oversee vehicle data acquisition systems for team cars.
•Operate in-house machining processes including lathes, mills, and CNC.
•Evaluate part drawings by measuring dimensions and comparing with original specifications for form and function, using engineering skills.
•Record test procedures and results; assemble technical reports from the gathering of numerical data.
•Communicate recommendations for design changes of vehicle components with engineering department.
•Travel to all team races and test sessions.
Requirements:
•Bachelor of Science in Engineering; Mechanical or Aerospace preferred.
•Experience in 3D Modeling/Design; SolidWorks preferred.
•Clear and concise communication skills.
•Racecar data acquisition background; MoTeC preferred.
•Machining background including the operation of manual and CNC controlled lathes and mills.
•CNC programming knowledge including experience with CAM software.
•Motorsports experience; Formula SAE is preferred.
