ArvinMeritor is currently looking to hire two engineers to work in our advanced chassis systems group, located in Troy, MI. See Job Description below:

Overview:

"¢ Design and develop active/adaptive suspension systems from concept through functional on-vehicle prototype. Systems include: adaptive damping, air suspension and active roll control, active steering and other systems in development.
o Develop concepts, create designs, perform engineering analysis, build prototypes for testing, develop full vehicle system.
"¢ Work closely with Vehicle Dynamics and Controls group, tuning and developing system on-vehicle.
"¢ Interact with customers, suppliers, and team members to achieve program objectives..


Principle Accountabilities:

"¢ Component, system and vehicle level designs
"¢ Analysis of systems.
o Ability to create or work with vehicle dynamics models to optimize chassis systems
o Ability to perform FEA or analyze FEA data
"¢ Work with test equipment and analyze test data
"¢ Perform vehicle ride & handling evaluations
"¢ Analyze vehicle instrumented handling data and full vehicle test data (K&C, VIMF)
"¢ Author reports, create presentations and document intellectual property.
"¢ Maintain a working knowledge of new technologies that may improve operations.

Education/Experience:

"¢ Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Masters degree a plus.
"¢ 3 - 10 years experience in engineering of chassis systems. New college graduates accepted with experience in chassis development. Example; Formula SAE, co-op at automotive manufacturer or supplier.
"¢ Excellent knowledge of applied vehicle dynamics
"¢ Experience in CAD. Solidworks or Catia is a plus
"¢ Ability to analyze vehicle dynamics data (ADAMS, CarSim, instrumented handling data, K&C, VIMF, etc.)
"¢ Good driving skills is a plus
"¢ Excellent communication skills
"¢ Project management experience
