Does your brain function more like a precision engine management system, than an organic neural processor? Are you constantly operating at full boost, rather than just putting around like other naturally aspirated engineers? Do you have a burning desire to give back to the system which helped you get where you are today? Maybe YOU have the right stuff to be a Design Judge for the biggest, and best Formula SAE competition in the World! http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
Formula SAE is looking for a few good men & women. Actually 15 or so! The Design Judging segment of the FSAE competition in Michigan is expanding this year. As a result of going to one hour long design judging sessions http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif for the 2011 competition, we are actively seeking the right folks to become new Design Judges.
Who are we really looking for? First off, you must be a college grad… who majored in engineering. Past FSAE student competitors or event volunteers will get preferential consideration. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
We would like you to have a minimum of three years of job experience in the real world working in the automotive or motorsports industries. If automotive industry, we would strongly favor post-education motorsport involvement.
You not only have to be well qualified in your area of expertise, you also have to be a person of good moral character, a good listener, and excel at interactive verbal communication. You need to be someone who an engineering student can look up to, and demonstrate the qualities needed to be a good mentor / teacher. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
If you think you have the ‘right stuff’ we would like to hear from you! If any of you student competitors reading this know of any alum, or any other well qualified person(s), feel free to urge them to contact us.
You will be required to be on-site for the entire three day competition (May 12-14, 2011), and yes we sometimes put in some long hours. You will be trained by the best Design Judges in the world, and be assigned to one or more of them, in order to follow them around and interact with student competitors, while informally reviewing and helping student competitors improve their engineering, & manufacturing skills for future competitions. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
You will be serving alongside some of the brightest, most talented engineers in the automotive and motorsports industries in the US.
If this sounds like just the opportunity you have been waiting for to help give back to future engineers, please send your list of qualifications here: FSAE@PowerTrainTech.com
Thank you,
Steve Fox Chief Design Judge, Formula SAE - Michigan
Tony Lyscio Chief Design Judge & Design Event Captain, Formula SAE - Michigan
