SpeedSource Race Engineering has an immediate opening for a full-time entry-level race engineer. Position is based in Sunrise, FL.

Description:
The junior engineer will assist in daily operations of the engineering department and report directly to senior engineering staff. Ideal candidates will posses sound automotive engineering knowledge and be able to effectively apply technical skills in real-world applications. Engineers must be highly-motivated self-reliant individuals looking to succeed in a team environment. Anticipated daily engineering functions including, but not limited to, are:
• Design of components to improve vehicle performance.
• Analysis of components using modern FEA and CFD tools.
• Evaluate part drawings and inspect manufactured parts for conformity to design specifications.
• Devise test plans and record procedures and results.
• Assemble reports to convey engineering findings to both technical and non-technical staff.
• Project management from inception to completion in accordance to strict development timelines.
• Communicate recommendations for design changes of vehicle components with engineering department.
• Collaborate with car technicians to maintain vehicle data acquisition systems.

Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering; Mechanical or Aerospace preferred.
• Solid understanding of racecar engineering.
• Experience in 3D Modeling/Design software.
• Manufacturing experience including operation/programming of CNC is a plus.
• Clear and concise communication skills.
• Racecar data acquisition background.
• Motorsports experience.
• Time-oriented work ethic.
• Desire to work on a winning race team.

Recent graduates or students expecting to graduate in December 2011 are preferred. SpeedSource offers employees a drug-free work environment in an air-conditioned world class facility. Standard compensation includes vacation, medical, and retirement packages.
