Would it be cool if you guys at the comp could chuck up some info on what the heck is going on over there when it is on? I know EVERYONE is usually up to their eye balls in tinkering 26 hours a day, but for us loosers stuck at home, a million miles away, the lack of info on the net is annoying to say the least!
PLEASEEEEEEE... I beg you!!!!!
Just a HINT of what is happening!!!!

Even if you drag your girlfriends along as secretaries to take notes through the day so then they can post them at night!!! http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Just to clarrify...
This wasn't a message to my OWN team...
(I'm dense, but not that dense.) http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

It was a message to get the ball rolling...
A way for all teams involved or even just watching the comp, to let the rest of the world know what is happening, whilist we all wait expectatnly at home for the results.

Who had spills, who had troubles, who is doing exceptionally well...etc...

Sorry guys... I can see how this MIGHT get mixed up...

But Goodluck to all...
It sounds like it is going to be a great competition!

We'll see if our hotel has an internet connection, and if I fall asleep immediately upon returning there each day or if I can't get to sleep at all... equally likely http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I know our hotel has internet, and will try to post results as soon as we know them. However its tough to get complete results before the end of the competition.

If you check out our website you can already get a feel for how we're doing: sae.ucsd.edu

We have some pictures of our trip across AMerica (2300 miles) the Silverdome parking lot online - still not fully set-up yet. We may have internet at the track and may be able to provide updates each day.

Rain delays during the autocross event is the last I heard...

I too heard that the usual rain was wrecking havoc as it does almost every year. I also heard that LeHigh (sp?) set a record with a weight of 301 lbs and that the second closest competitior was 90 lbs higher!!

I want result, I want to know some times.

You're not the only one. It would be cool if somebody was there explicitly to broadcast the results live with photos and videos on the web!! Now THAT would be cool!!

You want results, I got 'em.. sort of. Here's the top 5 so far, as we roughly calculated from results posted recently.

1. Cornell
2. Texas A & M
3. UMR
4. Auburn
5. UTA

UTA is about 150 pts behind Cornell, so that gives you an idea of the spread.

Design finals are Cornell, UTA, and UWA.

UMR won autocross, with Cornell 2nd and Auburn 3rd. A&M was 4th. Autocross was a crapshoot, with rain coming down soon after the start. It was obvious that it would happen and the smart teams (or teams that were capable of doing so)went right away. UMR went first.

After a terrible storm where the event was postponed, it was restarted in the rain and it was decided that teams would only get 1 driver, and the previous cars with 2 drivers would lose thier 2nd driver's times.

Wisconsin-Madison won skidpad, followed by Cornell. I can't remember 3rd place ( I want to say Texas A&M) but Auburn was 4th.

Acceleration time best was 4.13. Auburn was 3rd. I don't recall the other rankings sorry.

20 cars made semi-finals, only cars from last year's top 10 were Auburn and Cornell.

Its pretty consistent, with the top 5 cars so far being up there in all the dynamic events. Cornell's static scores set them apart. The top four teams so far are all starting the enduro at the same time tommorrow. So it should be quite exciting no matter what the conditions will be.

One interesting note, it is raining, but its quite warm. There is a high of 87 degrees tomorrow!

I was smoking something, Auburn was 15th in skidpad not 4th.

All the top 4 above finished enduro. UTA did not. It was wet in the am and sunny and hot by the end. Should be a very interesting result as many teams were very close. Texas A&M passed us, then we passed them back. Cornell was very quick.

We were in the top ten design last year, and in semis this year.

One small correction, we were the second car to drive in autocross.

Your car looked pretty solid in endurance today when I got a chance to watch for a couple laps before hopping in myself.
