I think it's awesome that they are doing this. It would have been even better if they didn't tell us until comp. I can't wait to see how this shakes up the top teams.

I've always wanted to do a west autocross.

I have to disagree. I am not competing in Germany so I shouldn't really care, but when you talk about even qualitative points analysis and making trades on focusing development effort, no team in their right mind will decide to design a car with strong emphasis on wet weather handling.
Now I understand the best path to winning a competition is going to be the car that earns the most points, but the spirit of the competition has always been to build the best handling car (and on a broader note, need I remind some people about the weekend auto-crosser who is technically our market?). It has always confused me how skidpad has been repeatedly knocked down and down in the points distribution, and this decision just makes the event a joke, why even design for skidpad at all!

I completely agree that a race car will race dry or wet and I would never argue that an event should be canceled due to rain (barring safety concerns) but that is not what we have here. I find it hard to work through a problem in a logical manner ("engineering", as some may call it) when not only do we not have all the cards on the table, but we don't even know what cards exist in the deck! Shooting odds with mother nature is a different story...

This just in! FSG's Medical professionals have prematurely diagnosed all student design leads with an illness that will prevent them from being able to talk. Design presentations must be handled by Freshman!

How is this any different? http://fsae.com/eve/forums/a/t...607348/m/97820080051 (http://fsae.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/825607348/m/97820080051)
