It seems like CMU's team hasn't conceeded defeat yet:

I guess thats not so bad, at least both the Stanford leaders were CMU guys until just a few years ago. So really CMU swept first through third! Er... right.

I think I speak for most of our formula leadership in saying we're not upset that redteam lost. they had it coming for not doing any sort of vehicle dynamics analysis on a 7000lb robotic car worth multiple hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Yeah, that was Serge's biggest complaint with them when he was on the team too. They basically left all of the vdyn up to the stock hummer chassis. Very little chassis tuning, from what I understand. Granted, a hummer isn't a bad chassis to start with, but he thought they should devote a little more attention there. Apparently mechanical failure of the vehicle was not a problem for them this year though. The "eye" froze up and wasn't moving properly, and there were some other electrical issues that caused them to slow and allow Stanford to pass into the lead.
