Do you have oil in your veins? Does your brain function more like a precision engine management system, than an organic neural processor? Are you constantly on full boost, rather than just putting around like other naturally aspirated fellow students? Maybe YOU have the right stuff to actively work in the motorsports industry this summer! http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

PowerTrain Technology (PTT) is looking for a few good men, or women. We have openings for full-time summer interns to start immediately following FSAE 2008. Applicant should be a detail oriented, mechanical engineering student with a keen appreciation for quality, high technology, & extreme performance. Hands-on working knowledge of automotive mechanics is a big plus. AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor skills are helpful, but if you are fluent in another CAD, we can work it out. Machine shop experience is a plus. Experience with various modeling software and CAE a plus. Students with FSAE experience will get preferential consideration!

This internship primarily focuses on design engineering with an emphasis on DFM, manufacturing engineering and quality assurance. You will learn more about some subjects here in a week than you can learn all semester in school. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif We will teach you some things you cannot learn in school! http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif This could just be the hardest working, most enjoyable summer of your life. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif My first ever intern, graduated from Purdue, went on to get his MBA at UTA, and is now in charge of one of the main assembly lines at Dell. Where do you want your career to take you in the next five years? http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Day to day you will be involved in designing, drafting, manufacturing, testing, and assembling drivetrain components for Indy Cars, NASCAR stock cars and race cars from almost all other forms of auto racing. You will have the opportunity to attend various different races throughout the summer, and get direct motorsports racing involvement at all levels.

PowerTrain Technology (PTT) is a manufacturer of high performance, lightweight multi-disc racing clutches and drivetrain components for circle track and road racing applications. We also happen to be the fastest growing racing clutch company on the planet! You can read more about the company and the products at PowerTrainTech.com (http://www.powertraintech.com/index.html).

This position is based approximately 45 miles northwest of Chicago. If this sounds like the optimum set-up for your fast paced career goals, please e-mail your qualifications to FSAE@PowerTrainTech.com http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Good luck to all of you at Formula SAE 2008 http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

John,

This is a summer internship position. But, if you would like to apply for a full time position, I would welcome your application.

You have my e-mail address, above. If you have R compond rubber on the soles of your driving shoes, send me your best shot. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

It's all clearly in the post above, and also in links from it.

Suggest anyone interested fully read the description. You only get one chance to make a first impression. http://fsae.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
