All i have to say is someone is going to get hurt. These cars arent meant to get in accidents and a track like that will chew these cars up for lunch if they are absolutely perfect. The crash regulations for FSAE are bullshit and the fact that 75 percent of the cars out there have their front suspension axis at the drivers knees and above is just bad news. To race on something like that they better make there own rules.

Not to even mention that probably 90 percent of the drivers in FSAE arent trained to drive around other people of a track that size. I would go.... if I had a formula ford or an f500.

The first course looks like a kart track, and the second seems to be a full-sized track. This doesn't preclude a safe event; chicanes can be set up on the straights to limit speed, and passing lanes can be added. Isn't this how the FS and FSAE-A events are run?

(From the RMIT Website):

I think we should give the organizers the benefit of the doubt here, and see what they actually set up before stating "someone is going to get hurt".

Hello,

Denny you are rigth, the first track is an outdoor kart track. The track will be slow down with cones. This includes slaloms etc. confirmed to FSAE rules. Picture from last years Event:
https://www.lionsracing.de/www/media/pic-gallery/gal/Fun_Event_Germany_2004/Fun_Event_Germany_2004_pic124.jpg

The second Track is the Prosche Leipzig Factory Track. I can confirm, that these track is a real race track. For the Event we will not use the track, we will use the dynamic area in the infield , which is a great clean lot. We will only use 2 corners of the original track, which will be slow down. The Track will be setup as FSAE confirm track, inl. all saftey features how are necessary.

The track was chosen because these track has an fantastic peripherie, incl. a museum with the most secuessfull Porsche race cars etc.

Rob, there will be no wheel to wheel action. These will be a FSAE confirm Event. You should know, one of german characters is saftey!

These event will be the KICK OFF for the VDI Formula Student Germany Event in 2006, which will be a full FSAE conform Event.

As track designer for this event I can confirm that we will stay 100% with the FSAE - Rules regarding the dimensions of the race track.

That anybody is getting hurt is the worst thing what can happen on such an event.
