Do we have to include slicks, wet tires, and all eight rims for them in the cost report?

When you think about it, when you buy a car, do you get two sets of tires with rims?

'sup Matty,

I would only consider one set of wheels and tires... after all that is all you need to get the thing rolling. I would consider an extra set of rains as an added operating expense as with any other passenger vehicle or racer... A set of tires won't last a full season of racing, but you don't add that to the initial selling price.

You only need to cost what is actually on the car... so use the cheaper set of tyres/rims and change on the car as necessary for track conditions.

Further, the parts used in the cost estimate must be the actual parts used on the prototype and substitution of cheaper parts for the cost analysis is prohibited. For example, if styled wheels costing $150 each are used on the prototype, then substitute wheels costing $50 each can not be used in the cost analysis.

Something to consider.

Hi Matt

Check out rule 4.3.7.3. You only have to cost your declared "dry" tyres & rims. These must be fitted on the car for the cost event judging.
