Unfortunately i am not a part of the Formula Student programme, but am interested in building my own single seater for hillclimb and trackday events (time and money pending). Can anyone point me in the direction of any websites that contain any information relevant self builds? I figure if anyone knows it's one of you guys.Thanks.

Hey Russ

I've been spending some time at:

www.locostbuilders.co.uk (http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk)

There is a Mid-Engine section with a bunch of guys working on different projects. A really good forum as well with a very low signal to noise ratio.

Cheers, Ted

yahoo also has some interesting groups:
- locost_theory (most interesting)
- bike-engined-cars (lots of bike engined kitcar discussion)
- locost (haven't read this for a while)
- locost-racing (haven't read this for a while)

Some of these groups could be in the uk.groups.yahoo.com domain.

Russ,
Were you trying to build a car that looked similar to our Formula cars?

Because some teams sell their old parts. I've heard that some teams even sell their old frames which could definately help you out. Just start checking out the different teams websites. There's a list of FSAE team sites at http://www.sae.org/students/fsaeteams.htm
The team websites for Formula student are at
