JOB POSTING NOTICE

POSITION: Project Engineer (3 openings)
DEPARTMENT: Engineering Department - Lawrenceville
REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager
SUPERVISES: None

Position Summary:
Manage product lines (new or existing) from concept to production including customer service support. Must understand all phases of product development and project management and take a leadership role. Completes initial product design utilizing concept drawings and/or CAD drawings. Will give project direction to mechanical designers on how to complete designs and drawings. Coordinate activities involved in the design or fabrication, operation, installation and changes for consumer products.

Essential Job Functions:
· Will create and maintain schedules, costing, tool designs, testing and documentation.
· Manage multiple product lines.
· Write reports, proposals, project plans and testing results.
· Supplies direction to designers for component or assembly designs and give project direction.
· Design components or finished products.
· Knowledge of drafting standards and understanding of engineering fundamentals.
· Work directly with outside suppliers, quoting, part, and tool costing.
· Excellent organizational and problems solving skills and attention to detail
· Solid Works CAD experience with ability to create 3D surface models required.
· Create and manage engineering documentation such as ECN & NPR.
· Create and change drawings for new or existing products.
· Draft components, assemblies or detail product specifications.
· Take dimension or surface data from components or vehicles.
· May build prototype parts and fit test parts or vehicles.
· Ability to read, change, understand and interpret product instruction sheets and a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
· Will support all departments such as purchasing/materials, accounting, customer service, quality and product managers.


Necessary Skills:
· HS/GED and minimum AS degree in mechanical engineering including CAD and five to seven years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Must have some knowledge in most of these following areas: steel, aluminum, fiberglass, fasteners, plastics and welding and material finishes.
· Computer software: Primary: Solid Works Secondary: Auto CAD
· Microsoft Products (word, excel, project, Power Point), Internet, e-mail, Adobe Illustrator, and Quark.
· Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Accuracy and attention to detail is very important and must be hands-on, and a self-starter.
