You guys were the only North American teams at Formula Student last year, are you all planning on going this year?

Kettering is planning a trip to Australia in place of going to Formula Student. England was great last year but the time of year Australia takes place lends itself better to our schedule. The registration cost for Formula Student is a little pricey, but isn't as big a factor as the time of year it takes place.

Toronto has officially decided to make a return to Formula Student. I still can't justify the 500% increase in registration though.

Thank god for that! I was starting to think the entry fee was going to turn it into a non-event.

We'll put down the 50% deposit..... like David Atton said in his email this Wednesday. If it goes as a Non event.....or there are only like 12 cars competing, we'll probably pull out.

It will be important to hear from the other American schools as to who else is going.

What is this about a 50% deposit?

I am registering us tomorrow. We're still working on finding a shipper.

Any chance that teams from North America would be interested in booking a crate to put all our cars in?

Any other US teams planning on going to England? RIT, UTA, Cal Poly? And is Georgia Tech going to defend their title?

Is there anywhere where a list of registered teams is?

The Formula Student website sucks pretty bad. Last year, they put up a list after all the team's registered. Big help that was.

I've just gotten word that Georgia Tech won't be going to England this year, but UTA will be in both England and Australia.

I emailed the man himself, Dr. Bob Woods. They had gone there a few years back, and I recall them going to Australia too. Figured I'd see what they were up to down there. He replied back to me and told me they'd be going to both the UK and Australia.

We are planning to attend England this year. However, our appearance will depend heavily on our Engineering department fronting the funding (approx $10,000 USD). <<crossing fingers>> Should have an answer by next week.

I emailed GT too. I've emailed RIT too, but they have not replied to any emails I've sent. I don't recall seeing them post here either.

Being from Georgia Tech, we had decided not to attend Formula Student this year (2003). We have won the last two Formula Student competitions and have decided to focus all of our efforts on Detroit this year. We want to use this coming summer for some important developmental ideas. It's not really a money issue.

We're registered for Formula Student, and we (should) have all the money we need to show up with 6-8 guys.
