Where can I find good tecnical info on World Rally Cars. I want pictures of suspension, info on drivetrains, what it takes to convert a chassis to WRC spec ect. Internet or books. I'm looking mainly for new stuff but old tech stuff would be cool too.

if you are trying to find out this information see if you ca find any fro prodirve. for starters on the chassis they completely strip the car. seem weld the chassis pull in a FULL roll cage from front bumper to the trunk (for the jumps mostly and I believe is 16 point roll cage) the turbo's are twinscroll that have to go through a 34mm restrictor. most of the trannies being used now are 6 speed electro-hydraulic units. the suspensions are 50mm macpherson struts with remote reservoirs. same form as the stock car(just beefed up). the engines generally last about 500 miles before self destructing because of there high stung nature. The trannies are used for only one rally and you can find them used for around $95k!!!
now the old school rally cars were much more like a street car unless we are talking group B machines of the 80's. Those guys were unrestrcited and were putting out massive power.

Here is an EXCELLENT site that shows pictures of the process involved to turn a stock WRX to a fully equipped rally car: http://rally.subaru.com/rally/servlet/CarBuilding?part=1&page=1

that rally car looks incredible.

I must remind you that you don't need all that to rally though.

I have fun in mine racing the Super Stock class in NASA. 90 eagle talon.
