SpeedSource Race Engineering has an immediate opening for a full-time Junior Engineer. Position is based in Coral Springs, FL.
Description:
The Junior Engineer will assist in daily operations of the engineering department and report directly to senior engineering staff. Candidates must be highly-motivated self-reliant individuals looking to succeed in a team environment. Ideal applicants will also posses sound organizational skills. Familiarity to motorsports engineering practices is a plus. Anticipated daily functions including, but not limited to, are:
• Oversee, maintain, and administer internal inventory control system.
• Create efficient database management tools and practices.
• Evaluate part drawings and inspect manufactured parts for conformity to design specifications.
• Document and update dimensional drawings to reflect engineering revisions.
• Perform cataloging of all manufactured parts.
• Create Bill of Materials lists for all vehicle systems.
• Maintain vehicle data acquisition systems on race vehicles.
• Track and log mileage of vehicle components for standard reliability service intervals.
• Review and evaluate post-race engineering data.
Requirements:
• Education in an Engineering Technology field; Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred.
• High proficiency using Microsoft Office tools; Excel.
• Basic programming experience.
• Proficiency in 3D Modeling/Design software.
• Experience with motorsports data acquisition is preferred.
• Clear and concise communication skills.
• Time-oriented work ethic.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Prior motorsports experience is preferred.
• Desire to work on a winning race team.
Applicants must be available for immediate employment. Recent graduates or students expecting to graduate in May/June 2012 are preferred. Candidates must be willing to relocate to South Florida. Routine travel to race events throughout the year is anticipated.
SpeedSource Race Engineering offers employees a drug-free work environment in a world class air-conditioned 48,000 sq. ft. facility. Standard compensation includes vacation, medical, and retirement packages.
